This week’s conversation around AI and healthcare leadership reminded me how important it is to slow down in a world that keeps speeding up. Powerful tools can guide us, but good judgment comes from a quiet mind.
President John F. Kennedy understood that during the Cuban Missile Crisis. He stepped away from the noise, created space to think, and chose a restrained path that prevented a global disaster. Not because he had the fastest data, but because he made time to think clearly.
For this Faith in Action Friday, I want to share one tool from The Stability Equation that fits this idea perfectly: The Mental Stop Sign. It is a simple way to interrupt pressure, settle your mind, and make decisions with intention.
Here’s your practice for today
• When you feel rushed or pulled, picture a bright red stop sign
• Take five slow breaths
• Say, “Give me clarity and patience right now”
• Make your decision from calm, not urgency
Mindfulness doesn’t have to be complicated. It just has to be practiced.
Take one pause today and let it steady your leadership.

Godspeed y’all,
Kevin
