In this Faith in Action Friday, Faith Lived Through Discipline, Structure, and Service, I share how my conversation with Adam this past week reminds me that faith doesn’t always look like prayer or certainty. Sometimes it looks like discipline, restraint, and showing up when it would be easier to shut down.
After my recent conversation with Adam, a police officer, jiu jitsu black belt, and gym owner, that idea stayed with me. His story wasn’t loud or polished. It was grounded. Faith showed up through structure, service, and consistent action.
Psalm 34:19 says, “Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all.”
That verse doesn’t promise an easy life. It acknowledges struggle. Deliverance often comes through resilience, accountability, and choosing to keep moving forward.
For Adam, faith looked like training instead of numbing, accountability instead of isolation, and leadership through example. No slogans. Just commitment.
Here are a few Faith in Action anchors for today:
- Do one hard thing on purpose
- Check in on someone you respect and really listen
- Replace one avoidance habit with a constructive one, even for ten minutes
Faith grows through movement.
If you haven’t listened to the full conversation with Adam, I encourage you to do that. Share this episode with someone who needs structure more than motivation right now.

Godspeed y’all,
