While I believe that the standard incident command system (ICS) forms are great ways to capture the objective, tactics and other key elements of the planning process, I also believe we need to make the forms work for us.
As such I and my colleagues have created custom worksheets or edited some of the ICS forms to meet our needs over the years. With some feedback from friends and former IMT teammates I created an ‘OPERATIONAL PLANNING WORKSHEET – OPTIMIZED (ICS 215-O)’.

This version allows the practitioner to include specific shifts the Operations folks will work and define the composition of Strike Teams and Task Forces in a reserved space rather than on the outer borders.
For those familiar with the standard ICS-215, please review this ICS 215-O and let me know your thoughts on the proposed changes.
Godspeed,
Kevin
