Hello everyone. Hope you’re all enjoying your Labor Day 2020 or if you’re working today that you stay safe. As I mentioned in my tribute to Chadwick Boseman in PPP49: Comics, Cancer and Heroes Brought to Life, I’m a huge comic book fan. The stories, artwork and issues the comics focused on were very formative for me in my youth.
As a Project Manager in the Healthcare IT space I started to think about correlations between comic book characters, particularly some of the members of Marvel’s Avengers to key positions on Information Technology related project teams. In addition to being a fun exercise, to celebrate taking the ‘People, Process, Progress’ podcast to episode 50, in PPP50: Project Teams, Assemble! I share what I think the Avengers and project team match ups are.
Just as the Avengers balance tasks and teamwork between their most powerful members and with those who have no powers at all, project teams must balance the influence of those in the C-suite with the knowledge and experience shared by project teammates putting in the work at the code level. In this aspect, communication and relationship building are key to create and maintain open communication channels and build trust amongst the team.
Thank you all for coming with me along this podcast journey, for reading, listening and sharing the show.
